The registration for the Dutch Open Darts 2026 is officially open! From Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 February, the Bonte Wever in Assen will once again be entirely dedicated to darts. Who will succeed Jeffrey Sparidaans and Rhian O’Sullivan, the champions of the previous edition?
The Dutch Open Darts is the largest darts event in the world. You definitely don’t want to miss it! Whether you are an amateur, a professional, a youth player, or a para-darter: everyone can take part. So grab your darts, start practicing, and maybe you’ll be the one standing on that big stage, in the spotlight, in front of thousands of fans with the trophy held high!
Attention: new categories!
Due to updated rules from the World Darts Federation (WDF), there are new categories this year. You can read more about this in the announcement on the website of the Dutch Darts Association. In the singles, pairs, and warm-up tournaments, you can now choose between an “open” category or a women’s category. In the youth tournaments, there are now two open categories as well as a girls’ category. Please make sure to select the correct category when registering!
Attention: maximum number of participants!
For the first time, we are introducing a cap on the number of participants in the open singles and open pairs. Once the limit is reached, registration will close immediately. So make sure to register quickly!
• In the open singles, registration will close at 4,000 participants. A maximum of 4,096 players can ultimately take part, with the remaining 96 places filled by the NDB.
• In the open pairs tournament, a maximum of 2,000 pairs can register. A total of 2,048 pairs can ultimately participate, with the remaining 48 pairs also filled by the NDB.
• For all other categories, registration will close on Thursday 15 January 2026.
Paul Engelbertink, Dutch Open Darts Director:
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming thousands of players again for a fantastic darts festival. Of course, we also want to maintain the quality of the tournament, and that is why we have decided to introduce a maximum number of registrations for the open singles and pairs in 2026. For the following year, we are already working on other possibilities to potentially lift this limit again and continue growing. In addition, we are introducing a new schedule this year for the open singles, where players will complete their matches in one clearly defined time block. The draw will be split into two halves: one half will play all their matches in the first block, and the other half in the second block. This will make things much more convenient for all players!”
