Following in the footsteps of Luke Littler, more and more young talents are breaking through. The Dutch Open is no exception: 54 players started the tournament on Sunday morning, competing in the under-14 category. In the early rounds, two players immediately stood out: both August Villumsen from Denmark and Eric Petereit from Germany posted averages of over 88. The two players quickly made their way to the semifinals, where they faced each other.
Villumsen triumphed with a dominant 3-0 scoreline, then went on to face a talented player from Belgium in the final. Tiago Longa Y Galdo averaged over 70 in three of his matches leading to the final, and he did the same in the final. However, this wasn’t enough for the title: Villumsen started with a 112 finish, followed by legs in 19 and 17 darts. With an average of 88.41, the 13-year-old was the clear and deserving winner.
