What an incredible weekend we’ve witnessed at De Bonte Wever in Assen! The Dutch Open Darts 2026 came to a conclusion with the senior singles titles decided. Germany’s Paul Krohne claimed the open singles crown, while Dutch star Priscilla Steenbergen took the top prize in the women’s event. Her senior title comes exactly ten years after she was crowned girls’ champion in Assen.
Open Singles
Paul Krohne won the Dutch Open Darts open singles title in Assen on Sunday evening, becoming the first German winner in the history of this category. In the final he defeated Dutchman Corné Groeneveld, who missed two match darts. The final score was 3–2 in sets in Krohne’s favor.
For a long time, it did not look like the German would take the victory. Corné Groeneveld raced into a 2–0 lead in sets with excellent play. There was little trouble for the Dutchman in the third set either — he even produced a 170 checkout and earned two match darts at 2–1 in legs. Both doubles were missed, and the German punished him by taking the set in eleven darts.
Krohne carried that momentum into the fourth set, which he won 3–1 in legs. In the deciding set on the big stage at De Bonte Wever, he proved the most composed player. With two 180s he was even on course for a nine-darter — which narrowly missed — and he eventually sealed the biggest title of his career on tops.

Women’s Singles
Priscilla Steenbergen is the Dutch Open Darts women’s champion! The Dutch player previously won the girls’ title in Assen in 2016, and now — ten years later — she has claimed the senior crown by defeating Norway’s Rachna David 5–3 on the main stage. Steenbergen had to fight back after trailing 2–0 early in the match.
The Lakeside semifinalist from last December responded with two strong legs in a row and then set herself up on tops with a 140 score in leg five, taking a 3–2 lead. She was first to a finish chance in the next leg and hit double sixteen with her first dart to move within one leg of victory. David battled back well with an 82 checkout, but it wasn’t enough. Steenbergen sealed the title on double eight.
