Jeffrey Sparidaans created the highlight of his career at the TOTO Dutch Open Darts. The player from Tilburg won the men’s singles tournament by defeating David Fatum 3-0 in the final.
With over 8,000 matches played, the TOTO Dutch Open Darts 2025 was an absolute spectacle. More than 4,000 men started the tournament on Saturday, with just two remaining on Sunday evening. Jeffrey Sparidaans and David Fatum fought it out to claim the coveted title. Sparidaans, who lost his PDC Pro Tour card after two years, showcased his class upon returning to the WDF. He opened with a 14-darter and took advantage of missed doubles from his opponent a leg later. In the third leg, the American again missed darts at the outer ring, giving Sparidaans a quick 1-0 lead.
Sparidaans makes Assen cheer
After more misses in the second set, it seemed Fatum might be out of the contest. However, for the first time in the match, he fought back, scoring a 16-darter to finally get on the board. Breaks followed quickly: both men won the leg that their opponent started. A decider was needed in the second set, where Fatum got the first chance with a 120 finish. He narrowly missed tops, and Sparidaans dealt a heavy blow by finishing 76.
From that point on, Sparidaans didn’t let go. He opened the third set with a 74 finish, but after three missed doubles, he failed to press home his advantage. The two men broke each other once more (Fatum missed double 14 for the set win), before the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. In his own leg, Sparidaans hit double 8 for a 19-darter, and then erupted in celebration. The crowd went wild, and his friends went crazy: Jeffrey Sparidaans is the winner of the TOTO Dutch Open Darts 2025.
