The final day of the most fun and largest darts tournament in the world will return to national television in early February! On Sunday, 8 February, the finals programme of the Dutch Open Darts in Assen can be watched live on RTL7.
This will be the fourth consecutive year that the national TV channel — which in the past also broadcast all major PDC events for many years — will air the final day of the Dutch Open Darts live.
“It’s fantastic that the conclusion of our wonderful darts event will once again be shown on national television this year”, said NDB director Paul Engelbertink. “With Jimmy van Schie’s Lakeside victory and Gian van Veen’s recent PDC World Championship final, darts in the Netherlands is very much in the spotlight! By broadcasting the final day of the Dutch Open Darts live, we’re giving that an extra boost.”
Dutch Open Darts
The Dutch Open Darts is the largest open darts tournament in the world. Last year we welcomed more than 32,000 visitors, recorded over 8,300 entries, and played more than 8,000 matches! Everyone—from amateur to professional—can take part at De Bonte Wever in Assen. It is the biggest event organised by the Dutch Darts Association (NDB) and guarantees four days of top-level darts and great atmosphere.
Last year, Jeffrey Sparidaans won the men’s tournament at the Dutch Open Darts, marking the fourth consecutive year that the title went to a Dutch player. Rhian O’Sullivan from Wales was crowned women’s champion.
Broadcast
On Sunday, 8 February, be sure to tune in for a fantastic afternoon of darts. From 1:00 PM, the programme will be broadcast live on RTL7 and presented by Jacques Nieuwlaat. Between matches, there will be analyses, interviews with various top players, and a feature capturing the atmosphere of this wonderful event.
The pairs tournament on Friday and the singles events on Saturday and Sunday morning can be followed via a livestream on the Dutch Darts Association’s YouTube channel. On Sunday, the youth finals will also be available to watch there.
The open singles tournament and the open pairs tournament of the Dutch Open Darts have been fully booked for some time now. It is no longer possible to register for these categories. Registration for all other tournaments closes on Thursday, 15 January 2026.
